Hovingham Mini Recycling Centre

We hope to encourage residents to recycle as much as possible to avoid unnecessary items ending up in landfill.

We currently have bins for:

• glass
• tin
• paper
• cardboard
• cartons

The Salvation Army has a bin for clothing.

Responding to feedback, a carton recycling bin has been added to stop cartons being burnt. The paper fibre contained in the cartons can be re-used and the linings made from plastic and aluminium can also be recycled.

We have installed signs to encourage users to keep the recycling tidy with the strapline, 'Sort It, Squash it, Squeeze It'.
